I have long heard, or rather, read on the Internet, about a fruit under the strange name "feijoa", when pronouncing which, without special preparation, you can twist your tongue. 🙂 I read that it is very useful and that it can even be grown at home (but since the windows of our apartment in Russia didn’t face the sunny side, I didn’t even dream about it).

The other day we went to our friends who recently emigrated to Montenegro. What was my surprise when they offered to treat us with small green feijoa fruits that grow at their Montenegrin neighbor. I thought that this fruit lives only in tropical countries, but it turns out that it has also reached Montenegro) Of course, you can’t buy it here on every corner, but if you look well, you will be able to enjoy this overseas fruit 🙂

Its taste is very pleasant, something in between kiwi, strawberry and pineapple. It ripens in October, like tangerines. The pulp is transparent greenish, the skin is tart and inedible, although some people dry it and add it to tea, because. it has a lot of vitamins. Feijoa makes excellent jam, fragrant and tasty. If you find one, be sure to try it!
